This is a re-post of the blog article. I don’t know why but the original one suddenly started to break my WordPress theme.
I first met Ali in the common room of a hostel in Vilnius, Lithuania. We ended up talking most of the afternoon before heading out for beers at one of the local pubs. What really interested me about Ali was his extensive travel to less traditional locations and what he does when he is there.
Ali is a medical doctor who has devoted years to visiting people living under oppressive regimes and refugee camps. He spends his own money to gain access to these areas so he can record the stories of the people caught up in these living conditions. While doing this he supports himself by providing virtual access as a medical service.
